Summer camp 2017

Dates are as follows:

Spots are initially allocated per corps. After first round of offers go out, more spots may open up.

Dates are course dates, so add 1-2 days travel before/after. Cadets are generally bussed from Yorkton to Regina and then flown to their destination.

General Training (1st years):
24 July – 4 Aug. Vernon, BC. 4 spots available.

Bear Track Ice Melter for sale

Yorkton Army Cadets are selling Crop Production Services Bear Tracks Ice Melter. It is vegetation, concrete, and pet friendly. $20 for 35 lb pails. Proceeds go towards 2017 Canada 150 trip to Ottawa/Quebec.

Fitness Assessment Saturday Nov 19

Saturday, Nov 19, 0900-1600 is our quarterly fitness assessment. Wear sports attire and bring a water bottle. Lunch will be provided.

Field Training Uniform (FTU) Checklist

Below is the list of all the uniform parts you need in order to wear your field training uniform. For pictures see the Illustrated Uniform Guide on our Resources page.

FTU should be washed and tumble dried then hung up, so it is wrinkle-free. Do not iron!

Poppy Day

Poppy Day is when cadets hand out poppies and collect donations on behalf of the Royal Canadian Legion. Proceeds go to help veterans and their families, and other community support the Legion assists with. Times are 9-4 at the Royal Canadian Legion on Broadway. Dress is full uniform with parka/toque/gloves. Lunch is provided.

Volunteer drivers are needed.

Tunic badges

If you were issued a tunic without badges sewn on, see our Resources page for a diagram showing left/right sleeves. Do NOT use fabric glue!

Tag Day Oct 15

Oct 15, cadets will be out and about at storefronts around Yorkton, soliciting donations from the public.

Dress is dress uniform with cadet parka/gloves/toque. New cadets will be fitted with a cadet parka.

Volunteer drivers are needed.

Lunch will be provided.

Tag Day is an opportunity for both fundraising and part of public outreach. The funds go towards paying for training, equipment, and supplies that are above and beyond the core program funded by a partnership between the Dept of National Defence and the Army Cadet League.
